Holistic beauty

A waltz between aesthetics and the beauty of the whole being.

For some years now, the word HOLISTIC ("Holos" in Greek, meaning "the whole") has been widely used in the world of well-being. In natural medicine, aesthetics and cosmetics, a holistic approach means taking all aspects of the human being into consideration!

CON-SI-DE-RA-TION... does that mean anything to you? Aren't we just lacking in consideration for ourselves? Do we pay attention to the signs that our body and mind send us, which indicate a deficiency at certain levels? Whether on our physical, psychological, emotional or spiritual level...

To put it plainly, what is a holistic approach to aesthetics?

This means that you can't simply focus on the state of your skin or the amount of excess weight. The real key is to work upstream, on the state of mind, the emotions, the blockage that lies behind what we see on the surface.

By working with energetic and holistic techniques, we can have a positive impact on the cause (of a dull complexion, redness or an unbalanced figure, for example) and not just on the symptom itself. In this way, massage, reflexology, magnetism and other energetic techniques will work in tandem with the treatments and products provided.

But where does this craze for holistic beauty care come from?

This is primarily due to the significant influence of ancient Oriental treatments in this field. Whether you're thinking of Ayurveda from India, traditional Chinese medicine, Tibetan massage, Japanese beauty treatments or even the Arab world's Hammam treatments, all approaches that originate in the East encompass the whole being. In Eastern culture, beauty rituals are always highly spiritual and are carried out with great respect for the body... and the spirit. By caring for and cherishing our bodies, we also care for our minds!

And as we all know... beauty comes from within!

What exactly do we mean by this?

Remember a cold, a migraine or any other illness, when your body is busy fighting the pain, it has a hard time expressing its beauty.

And what happens when we're healthy, eat well, sleep well and feel 'good about ourselves' - the phrase speaks for itself - well, we have a radiant complexion, sparkling eyes and an upright, confident posture that adds to the beauty of our appearance.

It's a bit of the same concept with the classic aesthetic:

Got redness? Apply a cream! The redness diminishes, but have we really worked on its cause to reduce it, perhaps more slowly, but more surely, more deeply and above all, definitively?

Redness and other skin problems are often the result of an industrialised diet, alcohol, a hectic lifestyle and mental state. If we're not feeling well, this reflects directly on the weak point of our body and appears on the surface.

Also, certain blockages in circulation, and of course certain uncontrolled emotions, can be reflected externally.

I've noticed that, certainly due to the general pace of life, we no longer follow the seasons, we no longer respect our natural rhythm. And then we're surprised when we don't look as good as we'd like! To have the optimum energy to bring out our full beauty, we need to live in harmony with nature and respect the rhythm of the seasons! Traditional Chinese medicine has understood this for thousands of years!

Everything is connected, and increasingly the worlds of energy treatments and beauty care are coming closer together and discovering that they have countless points in common.

Whether through drainage, massage or vibratory manipulation, energetic approaches bring an immense plus to the field of aesthetics.
